PARRIS Law Firm Secures $77 Million Verdict for Motorcyclist Severely Injured in Angeles Forest Highway Crash
PARRIS Law Firm is proud to announce a $77 million verdict on behalf of their client, who sustained catastrophic injuries in a head-on collision caused by a dangerously operated vehicle that was on the Angeles Forest Highway. After extensive litigation, the jury found in favor of. their client and held the defendant, Francisco Javier Marquez, accountable for his reckless driving.
However, on the evening of September 11, 2021, their client was riding his motorcycle northbound on the Angeles Forest Highway when Mr. Marquez, traveling at excessive speed in a 2004 Lexus sedan, lost control of the vehicle and veered into their client’s lane. The collision ejected their client from his motorcycle, causing permanent, life-altering injuries. Evidence shows that Mr. Marquez had repeatedly lost control of his vehicle earlier that evening, yet still chose to drive in those conditions.
Accountability & Justice
“This case was about accountability and justice,” said Partner Khail Parris of PARRIS Law Firm. “Our client suffered devastating injuries because someone chose to drive recklessly on a dangerous road. Today’s verdict makes it clear that drivers who ignore safety face consequences.”
Jurors then awarded their client significant damages to cover his medical expenses, lost income, pain and suffering, and long-term care needs. Also, punitive damages were imposed to punish the defendant for disregarding someone else’s safety.
“Our client showed incredible courage throughout this process,” said PARRIS Law Firm Partner Alexander Wheeler. “We are proud to have fought for him and secured the resources he needs to move forward with his life.”
