ACTS Law announced today that veteran trial attorney Case Barnett has joined the firm as an attorney working on personal injury, sex abuse, and medical malpractice matters.
He brings nearly two decades of litigation experience and a lifelong connection to the legal profession. A third-generation attorney, Barnett grew up immersed in the practice of law. His grandmother served as a Judge Advocate General in the U.S. military, and his father, renowned criminal defense lawyer John Barnett, helped shape his early exposure to the courtroom.
Barnett’s path into the legal profession was cemented at a young age.
As a child, he attended the courtroom during the Rodney King trial in Simi Valley, watching his father work during one of the most widely watched legal proceedings in modern American history. The experience left a lasting impression and ultimately inspired him to pursue a career dedicated to advocacy and justice.

He later served as a Deputy Public Defender in Orange County, where he represented clients in courts throughout the county and developed a reputation as a skilled courtroom advocate.
Barnett earned his undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University before attending UC Hastings College of the Law. Early in his career, he practiced civil litigation in San Francisco, gaining experience in insurance defense and bankruptcy matters.
